Vought O3U-1 "Corsair" observation planes
From the USS Augusta (CA-31) aviation unit, on a barge
alongside USS Heron (AM-10) at Subic Bay, Philippines,
circa 1933-1934. Partially visible at the extreme right is a
Martin T4M-1 torpedo plane being serviced on board Heron.
Larger ships in the background are USS Canopus (AS-9),
with submarines alongside (at left); and USS Black Hawk
(AD-9), with destroyers alongside (right center).

Note details of the ship's forward superstructure, tripod foremast,
awning spread over the torpedo tubes, 5.5-inch guns, windscoops
attached to some portholes, and forward smokestack.
USS Canopus (AS-9) is in the distance, at right.
